Easily Create Your Own Fingering Chart
Now this is something cool.
This week I came across an amazing resource for anyone who needs to create a fingering chart for any of the woodwinds. Ya know, if you’re working on lessons for students or even writing your own instructional book or e-book.
Woodwind performer and educator Bret Pimentel conceived and actually developed the technology for an online fingering chart generator that covers flute, clarinet, oboe, saxophone, and basson. I mean, how many folks out there can play and teach all the woodwinds at a professional level, and then turn around and crank out sophisticated computer code? Pretty smart dude if you ask me.
Not only is it simple to use, but there are quite a few options to choose from when generating your charts. Things such as size of keys, keywork layout, keys to include and exclude, colors, and more are all adjustable via an easy administrative interface.
Most impressive is the final result, which is a crystal-clear fingering chart which you can download in the popular .PNG image format.
To learn more about the generator, hop on over to Bret’s own article introducing the doodad:

Thanks for the kind words and the link. I’m glad you like my Fingering diagram builder, and I hope your readers will, too.
Incidentally, they can jump straight to the saxophone fingering chart here:
